Warlingham is the furthest of our regular catchment villages, about two miles north-east of Caterham in the Tandridge district. It is also one of the more awkward places to find an emergency dentist at short notice, which is why people ring us.
We keep time free each day for urgent cases. Register with us or not, if you are in pain we will find you an appointment.
The point of an emergency appointment is to stop the pain and stabilise the tooth, and in most cases that is done before you leave. Abscesses may need antibiotics before definitive treatment, and root canals need a second visit. What we will not do is send you away still hurting. See the emergency dentistry page for the step-by-step.
Weekdays start at 8am, with late finishes at 6pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturdays are 9am to 5pm. Given the distance from Warlingham, ring early and we will give you a time that suits the journey rather than the other way round.
✦ Severe tooth pain
✦ Dental abscesses or infections
✦ Broken or cracked teeth
✦ Lost or damaged crowns and fillings
✦ Knocked-out teeth
✦ Gum swelling or bleeding
Driving over, aim for 72 Brighton Road, Coulsdon, CR5 2BB. There is free parking for up to six cars at the practice, so you are not circling Coulsdon town centre with a swollen face.
On the train, Upper Warlingham station is about a mile from the village and Whyteleafe is a short walk from it. Both sit on the line up to Purley, where you change for Coulsdon Town.
Phone 0208 660 3308 before leaving Warlingham. On a longer journey that call is the difference between arriving to a prepared surgery and arriving to a wait.
Keep a knocked-out tooth in milk, held by the crown. Take ibuprofen as directed for a throbbing tooth if you can take it safely. Cover a sharp broken edge with sugar-free gum. And if the swelling is closing your eye or affecting your breathing or swallowing, that is an A&E job, not a dental one.
Appointments start from £75 and every figure is on the private fees page. Afterwards you are welcome to join as a new patient rather than only seeing us in a crisis.
