We are located close to Coulsdon Town Centre on Brighton Road and have free parking for up to 6 cars.

Dental emergency or a bad toothache? What to do?

You can book appointments online or by phone and be seen on the same day for pain relief.

In most cases, the treatment is completed on the same day;

however, for the more complex procedures like root canal treatment or dental bridges, we need to book further appointments.

What are the steps covered in an emergency dental appointment?

For patients who join our private dental care, we offer the following checks during a routine check-up:

A full assessment will be undertaken. This may require taking an x-ray to diagnose the cause of toothache/injury.

Depending on the diagnosis, a treatment plan will be developed and teeth will be restored.

Manage infections or dental abscess through antibiotics, if clinically required.

We can offer you an appointment on an urgent basis normally within an hour.

We are confident that we can provide you with immediate toothache relief, even if it is a severe case of tooth pain.

In some cases, it may take a day or two for the pain to subside – in those cases; we can manage it via medication or high strength numbing gels to get rid of discomfort.

  • You should avoid aggravating the affected area as much as possible. Avoid touching, pulling, or twisting damaged teeth or skin.
  • Avoiding hot or cold drinks may be sensible as your affected area could be very sensitive to heat.
  • You may also wish to avoid eating hard or chewy foods.
  • Over-the-counter pain relief may be taken, if suitable, to provide some temporary respite whilst waiting for an appointment.
  • Do not take any Aspirin as this thinnens the blood
  • If you have lost a tooth due to an accident, please put it into an emergency tooth preservation kit or if you do not have one at hand, please keep the tooth moist at all times using long-lasting milk.
  • Try to keep the affected area clean, rested and minimise exposure to anything that could cause any further potential harm.
  • Do not attempt to undertake dental treatment yourself e.g., extracting your own tooth or piercing an abyss. This may make the situation far worse and could lead to serious infection. Please leave dentistry to the professionals.

direct access hygienist

Direct access hygiene allows patients to receive dental hygiene services without a prescription.

At the time of the appointment, the patient signs a waiver acknowledging that direct access hygiene does not involve diagnosing treatment needs and is intended solely for soft tissue health and plaque control.

If the hygienist identifies any concerns, they will recommend that the patient schedule an appointment with a dentist.

Under this model, non-registered patients can visit a practice and receive hygiene services—often at a higher fee than registered private patients.
